Cedar Lake is located east of Deerwood and is about 3 miles west of Aitkin off of Highway 210.  It is 1745 acres in size with a maximum depth of 105 feet.  Cedar Lake is a complex lake and has many bays and inlets with 26 miles of shoreline. Cedar Lake is very popular and known for good fishing including Walleye and Muskellunge.

Farm Island Lake is a large, hard water lake with good clarity and is located 7 miles south of Aitkin off of Highway 169. It is 2,054 acres with a maximum depth of 56 feet. There are several islands on the lake, which also has a complex bottom structure. The Ripple River (at one time called the Mud River) flows into the lake on the west side and out on the northeast.  It flows through a number of lakes and empties into the Mississippi in Aitkin. There are 3 islands on the lake; the largest is Farm Island at 29 acres. It gets its name from the Ojibwa’s that had large farm fields on the island many years ago. Farm Island Lake is also very popular and known for good fishing.
