Leech Lake is bordered by the larger cities of Walker on its southwest side and Federal Dam on its northeast side. Major highways surrounding Leach Lake are Highway 371 and 200. Leech Lake is one of the largest lakes in Minnesota with 111,000 acres, 640 miles of shoreline and a maximum depth of 150 feet. It is a very scenic lake with many bays and inlets surrounded by natural forests.
