Mille Lacs Lake, Minnesota's second-largest lake, 132,000 acres in size or slightly more than 200 square miles. Maximum depths barely exceed 40 feet. Mille Lacs is located 30 minutes east of Brainerd from Highway 18 and 90 miles north of Minneapolis from Highway 169. Major towns around the lake are Garrison, Wahkon and Isle. Mille Lacs Lake is widely known for its great Walleye fishing.
