Round Lake is about 8 miles north of Brainerd/Baxter just east of Highway 371. Round Lake is 1650 acres in size with a maximum depth of 51 feet. Round Lake connects to Gull Lake via a channel on the west side of the lake. Its shorelines are mostly sandy and Round Lake is known as a very good fishing lake. North Long Lake is about 8 miles north of Brainerd just east of Highway 371 and lies south of Round Lake. North Long Lake is a large lake at 6144 acres with a maximum depth of 97 feet. North Long Lake also borders the city of Merrifield on its eastern side. Its shorelines are mostly sandy and shallow.
